BRIDA(Mebrofenin) radiopharmaceutical kit is used as a diagnostic agent for hepatobiliary system scintigraphy, after labeling with Tc-99m.

This radiopharmaceutical kit shows the function of the liver cells and the plate system inside the liver and the secretion of the plates into the gastrointestinal tract. Overall, it is very helpful in diagnosing liver and plate diseases. Hepatobiliary system scintigraphy is one of the best ways to diagnose acute gallbladder inflammation (Cholecystitis). Other uses for this scan include chronic biliary pain, bile duct obstruction, and bile leakage, especially after gallbladder surgery. One of the most common uses of this scan is the evaluation of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia, which can be useful for differentiation of neonatal hepatitis from biliary atresia.

• Inject sterile ^99mTc (up to 50 mCi) aseptically into the vial in a volume of 2-5 mL
•  Dissolve the lyophilized material by shaking the vial for 10 seconds.
• Wait for 15 minutes.
•  Examine the radiochemical purity (RCP).
•  Labelled preparation is to be used within 4 hours. Within this period the total RCP of  ^99mTc-Br-IDA should be more than 95.0 %.

•  Store the kit at            2 – 8 °C
•  Store the reconstituted kit  at         15 – 25 °C
