This generator is one of the most important and widely used products of Parsisotope Company, from which technetium-99m is extracted in the form of sodium pertechnetate (Na^99mTcO₄) Solution through elution process, and it is used to label SPECT diagnostic radiopharmaceutical kits to diagnose and identify types of cancers and diseases. Tc-99m is a radionuclide that is widely used in nuclear medicine and research. Over 80% of diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals are labeled using this radioisotope. The half-life of Tc-99m is 6.01 hours, which is an appropriate time to acquire medical information. As it is not such long for the patient to receive unnecessary radiation. Also, as gamma rays emitted from Tc-99m have enough energy (140Kev) to penetrate the tissue, it is appropriate to be used for diagnostic purposes. The useful life of the PARS-TEC II generator is about three half-lives of the mother radioisotope, molybdenum-99, which is about one week.
