Launch of the Shariati Hospital Cyclotron with the Participation of Pars Isotope Specialists

According to the public relations of Pars Isotope, the cyclotron of Shariati Hospital was launched through the efforts of the country’s nuclear industry specialists and with the active role of this company.

This cyclotron, which had experienced a hiatus of over a decade, returned to the production cycle and was put into operation through the technical capability of domestic specialists and the collaboration of Pars Isotope.

The official launch ceremony of this facility was held with the attendance of:

Dr. Mohammadreza Zafarghandi, Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education,

A group of deputies from the Ministry of Health,

The head of Shariati Hospital,

The CEO of Pars Isotope Company,

And specialists from the country’s nuclear industry.

 

The radiopharmaceutical production facility at Shariati Hospital, in addition to the cyclotron, includes a production hall, quality control section, specialized hot cells, and other necessary equipment. With the launch of this infrastructure, it is now possible to supply the radiopharmaceuticals needed for the PET centers of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (Shariati, Imam Khomeini, and Sina hospitals), and this complex will operate as one of the supporting infrastructures for radiopharmaceutical production in the country.
