PARS‑EC® is a sterile, non‑pyrogen lyophilized powder kit designed for the preparation of 99mTc‑EC. Each vial contains 1 mg of ethylenedicysteine and is intended for intravenous administration. PARS‑EC® is for diagnostic use only and is employed for the preparation of 99mTc‑EC.
Following intravenous administration, 99mTc‑EC, as a tubular agent, enters the bloodstream and reaches the renal tissue via the renal vasculature. The progressive transit and gradual accumulation of this agent within the renal structures enable the acquisition of dynamic, time‑sequenced images. These images allow the physician to assess the extent and pattern of renal and urinary tract perfusion, the rate of tubular uptake and excretion, as well as the presence of any functional or obstructive abnormalities. This information plays a crucial role in identifying various diseases and complications of the urinary system and in guiding appropriate therapeutic decisions.
The PARS‑EC® kit is radiolabeled with a specified amount of sterile, non‑pyrogen sodium pertechnetate injection (Na⁹⁹ᵐTcO₄), eluted from a ⁹⁹Mo/⁹⁹ᵐTc generator, at the activity prescribed by the physician, and is then prepared for intravenous administration. The administered radioactivity or dose should always be adjusted according to the diagnostic value and clinical necessity.
